To get a job in food processing units / government departments, M.Sc. food science is a better choice.

MSc in analytical chemistry will help you to get into quality control department of food analysis, pharmaceutical analysis, chemical analysis, stability studies and also in government organization as lab technician and research associate.
MSc in food science will limit your scope to QC of food science.

    Hello Josephine,
To become a quality control officer, you should pursue M.Sc in food science and nutrition. There are too many career options available because it is a growing career sector.
You can also try to become a research fellow or lecturer. As a food scientist, you can get a chance to develop products, which people eat and drink every day. For this, you have to prepare for CSIR NET exam, which is a national level eligibility test to determine the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship or an Assistant Professorship.
    Best of luck.
