Which course is better in terms of career prospects: civil, mechanical, software or computer science engineering?

The choice of the engineering branch depends on your interest.
Below mentioned are the reasons:
1. Market conditions vary every 6 months to 1 year. Engineering is a 4-year course. There is a high chance that the field which looks the most promising at the time of taking admission might not be good when you complete your engineering.
2. Engineering mostly involves practical skills rather than the theoretical knowledge. If you choose a stream based on the market trends, chances are that you might not be able to understand the subject properly. This may result in the lesser grades and impact on practical skills.

Mechanical engineering yields some similarities, the biggest difference between the two careers is what professionals in the field engineer. A civil engineer helps design and create buildings, infrastructure, and other large-scale structural projects. The professional life is much, much different between the two.
