Which course is better MCA or M.sc operational research & computer application?

Three-year (six semesters) professional Masters Degree in computer Science awarded in India. Operation Research & Computer Applications is a postgraduate Computer Science course with specialisation in Operation Research techniques. Operations research specialists with IT skills are required in many scientific fields, many of which are of vital for business and scientific studies. As it is a niche course designed for a very specific industry and business needs job opportunities are lesser in comparison to MCA.

Both Masters in computer application and M.Sc in operations research are great courses to pursue as they're aligned with the modern job creation and emerging technologies. The candidate needs to introspect and find out the direction where he/she wants to work post this course. If the aim is to work in an IT job then MCA is better. MCA done from a good college ensures campus placements and just like B.Tech graduates, there are options available in several IT companies. M.Sc in operational research, on the other hand, is not sought after by the majority of these IT recruiters as they want more technical applications to be known to a candidate. M.Sc in operations research candidates can get lucrative jobs in the field of economics and econometrics like development banks, UN agencies, logistics and operation organisations. Profiles like decision scientist, statistic expert, growth hackers, etc. are some of the profiles available to such graduates. So, in a nutshell, make your choice keeping the end in mind.
