BPT is an independent profession consider it as a specialisation like other courses MBBS dental BDS or any other medical courses. After completing BMLT you will come under the category of technician only and after completing BPT you will come under the category of doctors.

You can read on the Allied health professional ACT of India and WHO's website about BPT or similar degrees in the west like DPT (doctor of physical therapy) the physiotherapists are first contact practitioners who also have the right to practice as clinicians BUT with more power as the field is more
