Which course is having more scope in all the countries: interior designing or fashion designing?

There is immerse scope of fashion designing. The fashion designers have varied options including designing, research, cloth production, textile designing, etc. They may join fashion houses/manufacturing/export units for a paid job or launch their own label in market. The horizon of Fashion Design is not limited to garments only; it covers several other aspects like accessories, jewelry, footwear, etc. As well *Following are few roles and areas, which come under fashion design: Fashion Designer Fashion Illustrator Fashion Stylist Fashion Coordinator Fashion Consultant Fashion Merchandise Growing fashion industry has a positive impact on the economy because of expanding opportunities. Fashion Design has become one of the most sought-after career options among students after passing class 12. The reason is its broad scope that promises hefty salary along with exhilarating work environment. But if on other side you look for interior design then it's a sub part of fashion industry. Become a fashion designer then you are good to go for interior designing as well.

Hi Samiksha, Both the design options have good career prospects and require creativity, determination, hard work, eye for details and colors. Fashion designers can work with export houses dealing with garment/ textile/ handloom exports, retail and wholesale garment businesses in sportswear/casual wear, etc., haute couture, government/semi-government- handloom/ textile manufacturers, fashion show organisers/ fashion publishers, TV/ film fashion programmes, producers/ comperes/costume designers, etc. You can either work in design or in merchandising in this industry. As a fresher, you might need to begin your career as a customer service executive / Trainee Designer/store manager before you take on a full-fledged role in fashion forecasting & trend analysis, planning & developing a range of garments, coordinating with the marketing team for presenting the range of garments, apparel production-planning, keeping a check on the quality, vendor development & sourcing, etc. You may even consider starting your own setup/ boutique. Interior design has good prospects these days with the huge growth in construction of residential, official and commercial complexes. Jobs are available in almost all the areas be it to furnish the interiors of private homes, public buildings, and business or institutional facilities, such as offices, restaurants, retail establishments, hospitals, hotels, and theaters.
