Which course option is better: B.Sc biotechnology or B.Tech IT?

According to me, you must choose biotechnology as it has a bright future in coming years.

Hi, Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that combines biological sciences with engineering technologies to manipulate living organisms and biological systems to produce products that advances healthcare, medicine, agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals and environment control. Biotechnology can be classified into two broad categories: R&D in Biological Sciences and Industrial Processes. B.Tech degree in Biotechnology encompasses both the biological sciences as well as the engineering aspect of Biotechnology. A B.Sc degree on the other hand focuses more on the biological sciences aspect of Biotechnology. B.Tech is treated as superior degree to B.Sc Biotechnology. However, if you do M.Sc Biotechnology you can pick up jobs similar to biotechnology engineers. India is slowly becoming biotechnology outsourcing hub. Lots of multinational companies are outsourcing research and development work in biotechnology to Indian firms. Most of the jobs in Biotechnology are research-based and most bio technologists are employed in research and development departments of institutions and industries involved in biotechnological work. Most of biotechnology science graduates are employed in R&D work. Bio technologists with engineering background work extensively in the production departments of these industries. If you compare B.Tech Biotechnology with B.Tech IT then as of now IT graduates have more jobs but slowly biotechnology jobs are increasing and it is a better career option with a long term view.
