Which course option is better BHMCT or B.Sc in hotel management?

The Bachelor of Science programme in hospitality and hotel administration is generally a 3-year programme that equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skills standards in the operational areas of food production, food and beverage service, front office operation and housekeeping and providing managerial inputs in hotel accountancy, food safety and quality, human resource management, facility planning, financial management, strategic management, tourism marketing and tourism management. On the other hand, BHMCT is a four year degree program which is a premier qualification which shall make the students fully acquainted with all the aspects of the hospitality industry. The core subjects of BHMCT around which the entire curriculum is based are: F&B Production, F&B Service, housekeeping, and front office. Apart from these four core subjects, the other subjects that are being taught during the four year degree course are food science and nutrition, communication, engineering, F&B management, marketing management, accountancy, food safety and hygiene. It will be better for you to pursue a four year program which will allow you to study further overseas and will improve your career prospects.

The focus of entertaining is impressing others The focus of true hospitality is serving others Being an alumni of LPU. I have couple of friends in the HOTEL MANAGEMENT. So I must say that LPU would be the best option for pursuing the course for HOTEL MANAGEMENT. As university possess a hotel which not only give practical exposure but also the real time. While B.Sc. In Hotel Management deals more with theory aspects, BHMCT course on the other hand deals with both practical as well as theory subjects. As part of this course students are offered industrial training in spheres such as food and beverage service, food production, front desk operations and housekeeping. Many colleges that offer BHMCT courses make it mandatory for students to undergo industrial training of 20 weeks.
