Which course should be taken in intermediate to become a research scientist ?

Hi Kamala, There are scores of private firms in India that requires Biochemists. Biochemists are mainly needed by pharmaceutical companies, agriculture/chemical and other allied industries. Private hospitals have biochemists to manage their laboratory activities. In addition to this, students of biochemistry are also taken in by private research organisations for the post of Research Scientist. On top of this, students who have finished their post graduation in this subject also stand a chance of getting jobs with firms that conduct research in Pharmacological Gene therapy or Genetic testing Drug research and testing Food quality testing, etc Besides this, aspirants who like to teach can also pursue a career in that direction. After they get their Masters degree, it is possible for them to go as lecturers in any well known colleges in India and then pursue doctoral studies. Government Career after M.Sc in Biochemistry Biochemists always are in great demand not only in the private sector in the public sector too. Health care institutes such as Hospitals, public health laboratories and medical research institutes all require biochemists. Here they provide a diagnostic service, carrying out tests on blood, urine and other body fluids. Other major employers in the public sector include Agriculture companies/Irrigation Drug testing centers Government laboratories Water authority Social welfare board Civil amenities, etc There are numerous government colleges that take in Post graduates and Doctoral candidates in Biochemistry for teaching and research.
