Which course should I choose among MBA and M.Tech? What are the pros and cons based on growth opportunities in the same?
I am currently in the 3rd year of B.Tech in production and industrial engineering (this course has significant management subjects as well) and planning to have a job for at least a year.

8 years agoMy suggestion to you would be to consider your interest first. To make it simple for you if you want to stay in technical domain, you should go for ME/M-tech as if you will go for MBA, most of the technical stuffs would be almost useless. On the other hand, M-Tech/ME is good if you have planned to go for Research I.e PhD in future and have a good interest in Research and Academics as well.
Secondly, MBA+BE/B-Tech is a good combination for jobs point of view. So, take a decision after considering both the things. -

8 years agoIn my view, MBA has a little edge over MS with respect to working skills required in an organization. MBA will enhance your team building and management skills an add-on to your technical skill. M.Tech will further boost your technical and you will be in your core subject area of interest. At the end, it all depends on your planing of career growth and your interest. MBA has more scope as compare to core technical competence in industrial and production. -
If you feel you can contribute further to the growing world of technology after the completion of an M.Tech, M.Tech may be preferred. If you are confident of your skills as a manager, wish to jump to some middle or higher management level and the aim to climb the corporate ladder then MBA is not a bad choice.

For several B.Tech graduates planning to pursue higher education , it is primarily a choice between Master of business administration (MBA) and Master of technology (M.Tech) programmes. While both qualifications offer good placements and a stable career, the decision should be a well-calculated one.
MBA prepares you for generalist roles and opens your avenues in non-technical industries, an M.Tech qualification offers you plush jobs and a freedom to take your love for technology to the next level. Both these career options are stable and rewarding.
It's also recommended to get a work experience of three to five years before opting for M...more
