Which course should I pursue after 12th as I am preparing for government jobs among B.Sc and BA in maths? I completed my 12th with PCM.

You should pursue BA in maths as it is less intense.

Hello Admit,
B.Sc course will be more demanding as compared to BA in Maths. The reason being that BA Maths is for students who have done +2 in Arts, whereas for B.Sc. Maths, one has to have +2 in PCM. So, please see the course contents of your chosen university before you enroll and then take your decision. Please check this link https://www.lpu.in/programmes/bsc-hons-mathematics for B.Sc. ( Honors) Maths programme in Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab which has a good reputation in Applied Sciences due to very experienced faculty. -
Both B.Sc and BA Graduates can apply for government jobs but choosing BA would help in grasping the knowledge of topics and things that can be asked in civil exams. So from a civil exams point of view, BA is more recommendable than B.Sc.

If you planning on preparing for the said exams alongside your graduation I would suggest you do BA honors as its course load is slightly less intense and would give you the time you need for your prep. As far as the eligibility goes a graduate degree will make you eligible for these government jobs.

7 years agoHello Amit,
For getting a Govt. job, you will have to appear for the exam conducted by either UPSC or your state Govt. For this graduation is almost must and that too in science. So begin by getting admission in B.Sc.
Best wishes -
Both the ways will take you towards government jobs, but it depends on what type of government job are you aiming for and for that you must have a good grasp on general knowledge and my personal suggestion is that you pursue B.Sc.
