Which course should I pursue after completing B.Pharm?

There are lot of scope. I am going to talk about the paths commonly opted by students: Getting a job directly after B. Pharma: Graduates who do not wish to pursue post graduate studies or plan on doing them later try to get jobs after B.Pharma. Jobs are usually offered in the field of sales and marketing. Some also work as pharmacists in hospitals whereas some are able to secure jobs at manufacturing facilities of pharmaceutical companies. Some also set up their own pharmacy. MBA after B. Pharma: Some students pursue MBA after B.Pharma whereas some pursue it after gaining a few years' experience (usually in sales and marketing). Depending upon your talent, qualifications, and how good your MBA school is, students are offered jobs in higher management of pharmaceutical companies. Pharma MBA is also offered by some colleges in India.M.Pharma after B. Pharma: Students interested in academia and R&D take up M.Pharma. M.Pharma can be done in many fields like pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, clinical pharmacology, pharmacognosy, biotechnology, etc. M.Pharma graduates either join the industry as scientists or as lecturers in universities. Some M.Pharma students pursue a Ph.D. which is required to become a professor in good Indian universities. A lot of Ph.D. holders also join the industry. (There is a difference between a lecturer and a professor) MS/PhD after B. Pharma: Motivated students who pursue undergraduate research and gain experience via internships along with good scores in college can apply for MS or even direct Ph.D. programs abroad. GRE and TOEFL/IELTS may be required depending upon the country and university. The competition is usually very cutthroat as you are competing with applicants from all over the world.LLB after B. Pharma: This is a very uncommon route. Some B.Pharma graduates pursue LL.B and become lawyers. They usually later specialize in pharmaceutical jurisprudence, intellectual property law, patents, etc. Hope this helps.

Its all about your interest if you are interested in Research then go for M. pharmacy there are various specialisation in this field like pharmaceutics, Pharma analysis, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical chemistry. If you like business, management and all then go for MBA (Pharma MBA or specialised in marketing and sales, operations, Hospital management). If you are interested in doing government job, you can apply for government. Pharmacist, Drug inspector, UPSC, etc. Even you can do LL.B. And become a lawyer.

Either you can start practice as a Registered Pharmacist after getting Registration with Pharmacy Council. You will get employment opportunities in Hospitals / Pharma Companies, Medical Shops etc. If you are interested in Pharma Sales / Marketing, you can join with Pharmaceutical companies as" Medical Repp's.," later Area Managers, Regional Managers, Zonal Managers etc. You can chose M Pharm in any specialization you are interested. You can also go for Pharm D which is new course recently introduced in India. Pharm D is a Doctoral Program, after B Pharm, can complete with 3 years. 2 years study + 1 year internship. Pharm D course will lead to revolution in Indian Medical Field. It will lead into Clinical Pharmacy practice and will decrease the work load of physicians. I this system, after assesment and proper diagnosing, physicians will write diseases condition and send patients to Pharmacy practitioner. Pharmacy Practitioner will be the authorized person to decide Medicines and Drugs, Its Quandity and also responsible for advising patients about side effects and usage. Syllabus of Pharma-D is entirely different from M.Pharma. It will cover about various Diseases conditions, drug management etc.
