MMS is a university course and you have to get admission through MHCET , MBA ie PGDM is affiliated to university. The course structure is pretty much the same in both courses. Placements also happen together across all courses.

Best part of SIESCOMS are they treat students of PGDM and MMS equally in term of placement, internship, facility and Infrastructure. The only difference is name of the degree one is MMS and other is PGDM. Since I am a PGDM student, I can say in PGDM, since the colleges have autonomy the curriculum can be updated regularly depending on the need in the Industry. Hence one can say that PGDM courses are more industry relevant, up to date as compared to MBA courses. However university MBA programmes too are of value, it totally depends on the university one wish to do MBA.
    All the best.

Assuming you are an aspirant of SIESCOMS, there is no MBA degree here. There is an PGDM degree and an MMS degree. PGDM and MMS both are courses which are equivalent to MBA degree. Therefore all the three programs i.e. MBA, PGDM and MMS are all similar with just minor changes in the syllabus. PGDM is a college regulated course while MMS is an University regulated course (Mumbai University).
You have to apply separately for PGDM course through college with scores of exam like CAT, CET, XAT, CMAT, MAT etc. For MMS course too, you can apply with all these exams but admissions strictly happens through DTE (Examination body which conducts MH-

SIES has PGDM and MMS. MMS=MBA but from Maharashtra. The courses are similar but not the same. The syllabus and the fees for PGDM is more than MMS but the value of both the courses is the same and this won't affect your placement.

    Hello Bhoomi,
In India, there is not much material difference between MBA or MMS. Rather it is dependent upon the business school or university, which degree they are providing. Some offer MBA, some like JBIMS offer MMS & autonomous institutes like IIMs & others like SPJIMR offers either PGP or PGDM. But for the recruiters or for higher studies there is no difference.
However, in countries like US, UK or European schools a Masters degree which can be Master of Management or MS in Management is more often 1 to 1.5 year program mostly taken by fresh graduates with less than 2 years of work experience in most cases. Whereas MBA is mostly 2
