These days in India or Abroad, English is undoubtedly the most common language used for communication purposes. Doing a Foreign language (german) would be an add on advantage in getting a good job as a interpreter in Embassies / Hotels / Import Export companies / teaching but this would not involve too much of traveling.
English is an extremely versatile subject that could take you just about anywhere, although a lot of English graduates do veer towards teaching and journalism, Publishing is another big favorite.Then there is more to it in India and outside.
