Indian IT industry's majority projects and largest business revenue is from Application Development and Maintenance (ADM). ADM projects require more developers in comparison to tester. Most exciting component of software projects is development as its is challenging and require analytical & creative thinking. Developers are paid higher in comparison to testers. Therefore, if you have a choice, you may opt for development jobs.
