    Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, popularly known as JIPMER Pondicherry, was founded in 1823 and has been placed 8th in the category of "Medical Colleges" for 3 consecutive years. 

    MBBS is offered at the UG level at JIPMER Puducherry, MD/MS at the PG level, and DM/MCH at the super-specialty level. The institute also provides fellowship courses and a PhD programme at the doctorate level.
