It is named after the ancient Ugri culture dance and music performances of the Lai Haraoba Festival.is a four-day event held annually at NIT Manipur Festival hosts numerous events including sporting events, band battles, contemporary and cultural dance, DJ nights, mock placements, men's soccer and LAN games at the NIT Manipur campus.Takyelpat bands that participated in the 2015 Battle of the Bands are Agro, Freedom Band, Karima Band, MIT, Dominik, Abundant Life, Virgo Diamond, Riverted, Meitrabak and Electrify.</p>
