In engineering, all the streams are equally important. It totally depends on your interests. Still mechanical and civil engineering has better scope in government as well as private sectors and are highly paid. All the best for your future

Every branch has scope and need in the market, maybe that's why they offer us to select any one of our interest but still we can divide them into a simpler and easy to imagine sort of stuff.

While Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology/Infotech are Indoor streams as they require mostly sitting under a roof and a fair involvement on computer languages and likely stuffs.

Mechanical has the better scope than civil engineering. The job opportunities in government and private sector for mechanical engineer are in abundance.

I used to have long debates with my friend who was a civil engineer on which one is better.
But honestly, it depends on your interests. I know for a fact that I can never be a civil engineer or a mechanical engineer or CS and he can never be a computer engineer. Not everything is everyone's cup of tea. If you are looking from the view point of job prospects, each branch has its pros and cons. But your interest should have vital point in what you select.
