Which engineering branch has most scope in future and what about civil engineering and its reputed colleges in india?

Civil engineering is definitely one of the best engineering programs considering in the past few years the demand for civil engineers has exceeded the supply. As I read somewhere shortage of around 7,000 civil engineers is witnessed every year in India therefore no civil engineer can go without a job after his graduation. In fact, in big cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, new employees are even paid salaries that come close to salaries of Information Technology professionals. Universities too have understood the demand of market forces and are offering more and more job centric specializations like I've heard about B. Tech Civil Engineering with Specialization in Infrastructure Development being offered by UTM Shillong. This program has been designed to create a highly skilled construction and project management professionals who fully understand the planning, designing, estimating, execution and maintenance of structures. It even combines transportation infrastructure that encompasses road, airports, railways, docks and harbours, lifeline structures like bridges, dams and canals, and structures of water supply and sanitary units.
