Both IT and CSE are good. Its up to you to decide which subject you want to pursue, based on your interest.

As far as the distinction between CSE and IT is concerned, you may opt for the one of your choice. CSE will be teaching you about software and programming. IT is more on the surface level. All the best.

CSE is a better option. B.Tech from a good engineering colleges like IIT, NIT, BITS or IIIT will give you a good exposure to the fields of computer science. This field includes various programming languages, which are missing in IT.
