Both IT and CSE are good. Its up to you to decide which subject you want to pursue, based on your interest.
IT is more of a professional track course. You are taught about systems and their functioning on a need-to-know basis. You are taught regarding the basic applications of a technology. It makes you an expert at the surface level of the tech, which will aide you to develop skills required at the industrial level. A good example would be a Network Administrator. You need to know about Networking and some basic hardware and software rules. IT can teach you what you need to know about their functionalities.

Hello Bedanta,
As far as the distinction between CSE and IT is concerned, you may opt for the one of your choice. CSE will be teaching you about software and programming. IT is more on the surface level. All the best. -
IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes, Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications:

7 years agoCSE is a better option. B.Tech from a good engineering colleges like IIT, NIT, BITS or IIIT will give you a good exposure to the fields of computer science. This field includes various programming languages, which are missing in IT.
Most of the engineering graduates getting hefty packages after engineering are CSE students. Even top IT companies like Wipro, TCS or Infosys offers good job offers to CSE students. So, CSE is better than IT. -
CSE has maximum scope among the four. This field is in demand these days and has a lot of opportunities as well. The job opportunities are available for the graduates in government as well as private sector. If you want to go for computer science engineering, you can get a decent salary packages.
Computer science has a very wide scope. Indian IT companies such as Wipro, Infosys, TCS, HCL, etc. have been able to garner gains even during the recession and have hired a number of computer professionals. Even the MNCs look for good computer engineers from India.
The graduates may take up following jobs:
