Which engineering branch is better among mechanical and electrical engineering?

    Jayant don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies.     Hi,
    You can go for electrical engineering or mechanical engineering if you have studied Physics, Mathematics and English in class 12th. Eligibility criteria for taking admission in B.Tech Electrical Engineering or mechanical engineering is pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) and you have to qualify entrance test along with it.     Hello Jayant, Electrical engineering is the design and study of electronics, power, and electrical systems while mechanical engineering is the design and study of power, energy, weapons systems, aircraft and transportation products, and other equipment.

    It depends on the college in which you are going to take admission. Some colleges have better placements for mechanical and some have better for electrical.

    Both mechanical and electrical are equally good core branches of engineering. You may choose any based on your interest. Mechanical is an evergreen branch with currently having a lot of job opportunities.
