Which engineering branch should I choose?

I studied mathematics in class 12th and I want to pursue engineering. I want to become an IAS in future.

You can take information technology, it will also open other options for you.

Yes you can go for metallurgical engineering too of you have interest in it. For appearing in UPSC you only need to be graduate.
