Which engineering branch should I opt for in B.Tech as I want to appear for UPSC exam?

Hi, How are you? Well, each and every branch in engineering is good, we can't compare them. Just there are a few differences like mechanical, electrical and civil are evergreen branches but CS, IT and EC have high placement records. I think you can opt for civil branch/mechanical branch/electrical branch for the IES exam but pursue these branches only if you are interested. These branches are quite harder than others. If you don't have aptitude in these branches, then please don't pursue.

As per the eligibility criteria of UPSC, all you need is to just have a valid graduation degree. You can appear in all the exams, but with some specific subjects (in the case you want to opt for IES) according to the need. So, I would suggest you to choose a branch according to your interest.
