Considering your question to be regarding B.E. courses,
In my experience ECE is a much recognized and preferred branch over EIE due to its established market demand and better recognition and a well tested curriculum. In terms of cut-offs for admissions for B.E. EIE lags behind B.E. ECE in Thapar and so in the placements. -
Opt for the engineering branch that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyze the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission. Don't take branch based on the college as eventually your entire career will be based on your branch
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of Aptitude, personality and career interest to clear confusion.
