10k rank is a very good rank and you can apply for many colleges. You can even try for Nit's. There is a good chance that if u go into a private one then u can get a scolaship as well. As fir the branch it should be something decided by you as u r the better judge for Your self. Think of the things u like the subjects u r comfortable with. Also before applying for the branch do a little reseacrh. And read the course schee that the branch has I.e. the subjects they would be teaching just to get an idea what the field is all about. U may not aundertand what the subjects are all about but u will get an idea if it is your cup of tea. More over if u want to plan for even furter then google the future prospects of the branches u have naroowed down. At the end I would say listen to every ones advice but dont follow it blindly . do a little of Your own research. Enjoy
