There are four core branches of engineering I.e. Mechanical, Chemical, Civil and Electrical. Each of these branches has developed into specialised sub-branches. The number of engineering degrees available has increased dramatically. The choice to opt an engineering branch depends on your interest.
Below mentioned are the reasons:
1. Market conditions vary every 6 months to 1 year. Engineering is a 4-year course. There is a high chance that the field which looks the most promising at the time of taking admission might not be good when you complete engineering.
2. Engineering mostly involves practical skills rather than theoretical knowledge. If you choose a stream based on market trends, chances are that you might not be able to understand the subject properly. This may result in lesser grades and impact on practical skills.
