Excluding IITs and nits BITS PILANI has the highest placement record in India. Followed by LPU and Amity etc.

Without any doubt IIT colleges are best in respect of everything in infrastructure, teaching, placement etc. Except that a person can also go for NITs, IIITs, they are also good in terms of placement. As these are government colleges so you will have to work hard to get admission in those colleges. Now moving to private colleges you can go in BIT followed by VIT, KIIT, SRM, etc.

I will divide engineering colleges in category for best placements records.
Almost all IITs have best placement records ever in India.
Second category is other state govt. colleges including govt. colleges of different state with best placements are Jadavpur University, Anna University, Cochin University, Punjab University, etc.
The third category with best placements records comes under private colleges category such colleges are BITS Pilani, VIT Vellore, SRM Chennai, Manipal, Thapar University and UPES.
