It's better to adopt mechanical engineering as it has a wide range of job opportunities in ITs field. Automobile engineering is also good but as you know in India there were few of colleges which hold the degree of automobile engineering and they do not provide any good opportunities of job.

Hello Souvik, It's a thumb rule that as you keep on specializing, opportunities keep diminishing. If you opt for mechanical engineering, there will be much more opportunities than automobile.
