First of all, it depends on your priorities. If you want to study only in Maharashtra, then MHCET might be a better option for you as it is applicable for all the law colleges in Maharashtra. If you are not specific about a state and can study in any part of the country but looking for best law schools of the country then go for CLAT as all the national law universities take admission only through CLAT. See what is your priority and decide.

CLAT is for national law universities in India, MHCET law is for Maharashtra based deemed and government colleges, CLAT have negative marking, if you answer wrong your 0.25 marks will be deducted, no negative marking in MHCET LAW. Appear for both and find out which is better.
