There is an exam which is IISC P.Hd entrance test. I would suggest you to attend to get seat in IISC and IIT for Ph.D in Chemistry and their cutoffs. -

IT CONSISTS OF AN INTERVIEW. BUT IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE INTERVIEW YOU WILL BE SHORTLISTED BASED UPON YOUR GATE SCORE
FOR IITS
YOU HAVE TO GIVE THE GATE EXAM IN CHEMISTRY
THAN BASED UPON GATE SCORE YOU WILL HAVE TO APPLY INDIVIDUALLY FOR DIFFERENT IITS
THEY WILL SHORTLIST AND CALL FOE INTERVIEW BASED UPON GATE SCORE
GATE STANDS FOR GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING IT IS ORGANIZED IN FEB EVERY YEAR By any of the ITTS, form comes in october every YEAR, keep checking.
