Which exam should I prefer among GATE & GRE to get the best college in India or abroad?

I am a 2nd year student of B.Tech mechanical engineering.

GATE is examination for M.Tech studies in India. Most of universities abroad use GRE score for admission in their MS program. You may plan to appear in both GATE & GRE for wider choices for doing postgraduate degree in Mechanical engineering after B.Tech.

How can I prepare for GRE, is there any syllabus or any study material with which I can prepare?

Yes, GATE qualified candidates will also have to appear for the PGET exam held on the scheduled date. The merit list will combine performance of both WBUT and GATE paper.
