CAT is an important exam than MAT, as almost all the top-ranked B-schools (including the IIMs) accept CAT scores for their respective admission processes. Whereas, the scores of MAT aren't accepted by many reputed colleges, thus one can keep it just as a backup option. Though, the difficulty level and competition in CAT is way higher than in MAT.
Thus, if your aim is to target the elite B-schools, then giving CAT is strongly recommended. -
