    Hello,
CAT is an important exam than MAT, as almost all the top-ranked B-schools (including the IIMs) accept CAT scores for their respective admission processes. Whereas, the scores of MAT aren't accepted by many reputed colleges, thus one can keep it just as a backup option. Though, the difficulty level and competition in CAT is way higher than in MAT.
Thus, if your aim is to target the elite B-schools, then giving CAT is strongly recommended.

If you want to take admission in top and good colleges, then go for CAT, as it covers most of the top colleges. MAT covers only few. It is better to go for CAT.

CAT and MAT both are for MBA, you can give any of the exam, and if you get to clear both of them, you will get a best college, like IIM and IBS from where you can get a good placement and a very good opportunity for your career.
