Hi,
There are no separate exams that you have to take to qualify for scholarships in US. Scholarships are granted on the basis of your complete application which includes SOP, LOR's(if applicable), GRE/IELTS/Percentage, and scholarship essay.

GATE is for India. The question is about Canada. So write GRE.
