Both fields have equal scope, depending on your aspirations and interest.

Looking at today's trend there in no doubt marketing has better scope than hr because companies today are more concerned to Marketing aspect as it directly influence their sales.
But personally I feel that a person will have better scope in which he is better at and loves to do because then you will be more comfortable. So instead of going with the trend just think of your expertise and then decide because its not just about placement but it is for your whole career and it will determine the direction of your career.
    All the best!!
