5 years agoHI Goutham, In general, both are equally good for the future ahead. I agree that CSE is having slightly more demanding nowadays if any Mechanical guy wants to go to core Mechanical Company only. Otherwise if you are studying in LPU like University. There is no difference in the opportunity to get placement or decent job. LPU, Punjab provide equal opportunities to all the streams. Many of my students have been placed through campus placements. According to them almost all the students were placed only those were left overs who do not want placements or those who were not good at academic records. Actually, candidates at good academic re...more -
Hello,
I would say both are best or the worst options until they matches with your areas of Interest. If you gravitate towards complex mechanics that machines of different types integrate, mechanical engineering is the right choice for you. On the other hand, if you are interested in computing technology, you'll grow in your career by taking up computer Science engineering. Another major point to be considered here is choosing a right college or university. As this plays a vital role. Being an LPU Alumni from engineering background, I can say that LPU has experienced faculty members, well-equipped labs, great infrastructure, excellent...more -
Hi Gautham, Both the branches have good scope provided
1. You choose according to your interest, aptitude, passion, frame of mind, personality, favorite subjects and align them with your aspirations.
2. You choose the right university to pursue from those of high repute. Per my 16 years of experience in education, I can say that IITs, BITs, PEC, Thapar, VIT and LPU have made a great name in education and placements. So, my friend the onus is on you to decide on both these points. Hope this helps

Well both the branches are in full swing these days. You should go for the branch as per your interest. Both these programmes require immense talent and knowledge. I can recommend a leading private university which offers both these programmes. Lovely Professional University is the best private university to go for B.Tech, it is one of the top 5 universities of India, providing quality education, innovative pedagogy and unbeatable placements both national and international. LPU provides a great academic exposure to its students. It provides a chance to the students to attend guest lectures or workshops, so that they get to learn as muc...more

5 years agoHi,A lot depends on your interest because you can excel only in a stream in which you are interested. Both are doing equally well. The university should give you the right inputs for a fruitful career. I would choose LPU which tends to change instruction through scholastic meticulousness; pragmatic direction and result based education. If you browse to check the efficiency scale, LPU tops the charts on all para meters:
1. Infra structure
2. Accreditation.
3. Faculty is not only experienced but is updated
4. Industry immersion
5. Labs are well-equipped with the latest technology
6. Placement preparation
7. Aids research

I've had a really good experience with the mechanical engineering faculty at Chandigarh University. Most of them are PhD holders, so you can tell they know their subject inside out. What I like is that they're not just teaching from books—they share real-world examples, guide us in labs, and help with projects. The faculty is approachable, so if you ever get stuck on something, you can just ask, and they'll explain patiently. They also encourage students to explore electives like Thermal & Energy Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, or Design & Robotics, and help you pick what suits your career goals.

Yes, Chandigarh University is a good choice for B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. What I really like about the programme is the variety of specializations you can pick, like Thermal & Energy, Industrial Manufacturing & Management, or Automation & Robotics. The labs are another strong point from 3D printing and advanced welding labs to industry-backed centres by Honda, Mahindra, Hyundai, and MG Motors. These collaborations give you hands-on exposure that feels very close to real-world industry work. On top of that, the department is both ABET and NBA accredited, which adds global recognition.
