Most of the gadgets require electronics hardware and embedded systems programming skills. Therefore, you are advised to do B.Tech in electronics or ECE. As these both subjects will gives you knowledge and skills to innovate and create something new.

If you are really interested in gadgets then the best choice for you is mechatronics engineering because the world is becoming technology friendly day by day. ECE and EEE are depleting so we need to think about our future and act accordingly. So, mechatronics will really be an emerging field.
