Which field should i choose agriculture or biotechnology?

Recruitment wise agriculture is better. Agricultural scientists get recruited by central and state government, etc. UPPSC advertises for B.Sc Ag pass outs throughout the year. Though the vacancies are low in number, B.Tech Biotech will bring you no government jobs, very less employability in the private sector too. If one wants to do research to discover something new then biotech is a better option but for that, B.Tech/M.Tech won't suffice, Ph.D is the way.
For employability, agriculture is better. B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D in Ag can provide jobs in both the public and private sectors.

Both courses are good but Agriculture is less Competitive field and comparatively opportunities are more considering that we are primarily an agricultural country. A very small percentage of our students opt for an agricultural major, only because they don't realize its potential. One basic advantage that agriculture has over other sectors: other industries might need down-sizing, but feeding the world is a job that isn't ever going to face recession.
