Which has a better scope and why: Civil Engineering or Production Engineering?

Production engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology, engineering sciences with management science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges related to production. The goal is to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most-judicious and most-economic way. Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering is traditionally broken into a number of sub-disciplines. Production has a bit better scope than civil as of now. The placements and jobs are better than civil and there are many areas of interest that one can pursue after production engineering. On the other hand the condition of civil engineers is not so good. The core jobs are very less in numbers. Civil Department has much lower placements as compared to other branches in almost all colleges, many students from civil opt for IT roles due to lack of Core jobs. So what is the use of studying civil engineering for 4 years? Even the premier institutes like IITs and NITs are facing same problem with civil. Production beats civil by one or two points max. Choose whichever you are passionate about.

Production engineering Production Engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology with management science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges related to production. Now does this seem similar or even compatible enough to compare, I am sorry my friend you can't compare two completely different fields. But I can tell you civil mostly has two parts, one that deals with labor force and controlling them and the other that designs. Production is mostly an office job and more related to manufacturing tools and the machines. If you compare it by salary I will say its almost same for both if you go for core jobs and management jobs. It now depends up on the institute you choose on, the course more popular with more knowledgeable and experienced profs.
