Which has a better scope and why: CSE or Civil Engineering?

CSE branch is great in terms of placement in private sector with high packages whereas CE branch offers placement in government sector with decent packages and secured jobs. CE is an evergreen core branch with brilliant scope in government sector .CIvil HasTremendous scope in so many field. Be it construction, transport, geotechnical ,fluid mechanics, repair and maintenance, seismic retrofitting of structures,testing of materials, So basically endless opportunities than CSE.If we go with bifur cation of top engineering courses out of the total number of seats only 923 seats are available in IITs and ISM Dhanbad. Hence The Competition is too high among engineering aspirants to reserve the most coveted seats in IITs

Hands down, CSE has a better scope. Seeing the current scenario, the tech industry is booming and there is a large demand for CS/IT engineers allover India and abroad too. There are many specializations and job profiles available. Other than that, CSE has the highest percentage of placements in almost all the colleges. Even the packages offered are the highest in CSE as compared to other branches. On the other hand, the condition of civil engineers is not so good. The core jobs are very less in numbers. The Civil department has much lower placements as compared to other branches in almost all colleges. Many students from civil opt for IT roles due to lack of core jobs. So, there is no use of studying civil engineering for 4 years. Even the premier institutes like IITs and NITs are facing the same problem with civil engineering. So, as far as scope is concerned CSE knocks out civil engineering.

This is a comparing between Gold and Coal according to general people. Generally people are thinking that in CSE you get an A.C. Room for job and high paid salary and in Civil you have to be in high sunlight, dust and less paid. Yes they are right that CSE are paid higher then civil and even the cutoff marks for admission is high for CSE and minimum for civil. Here are few point of comparing between them 1. Salary:- yes all wants good salary and CSE get good salary but if you are not getting good salary from CSE as many student are taking CSE so there are more crowd then it is quite difficult to survive because CSE job are in big cities. But in civil it is quite easy as you get paid average and having less crowd and you get job even in average expenditure cities. 2. Government Jobs:- Many student think that govt. job is good that life is settled but in CSE there is less govt. job in comparison to Civil. 3. Easy:- CSE is easy as you get comfortable room apart from civil. 4:-Job Scope:-In CSE if you are unable to get job from college then you have to learn many more thing apart from your degree such as web designing, Data Scientist, etc. to get job but in Civil you get job easily after your GATE exam. So, I think Civil is good for long term of time as now a days more student are taking CSE so in nearby future, there is more CSE job aspiring but less job in comparing to Civil.
