    Both history and geography are good. It depends on your interest and the purpose. Most important is the teacher (I am assuming that you are receiving some coaching). The geography we studied was up to 9th class in school and we were always taught with a globe in front on the table. Geography is a very logical subject like mathematics and for a logical-minded person, the subject can be grasped with ease; it was also scoring. In my days, geography was not a subject in IAS examination. History was a subject in UPSC and was scoring too. So many Science students used to take history and international law as subjects for these All India Serv

    Hello,
    Through history subjects, a student can go for teaching line. In geography, a student can join the weather forecasting department, journalism, teaching line, work in the survey department. Further, Masters study in geography gives more job opportunities to aspirants. Overall, both these subject have a huge scope. Both history, and geography are equally relevant. History teaches you about wise people, their thoughts, their actions that lead to victory or failure, and the development of the human race, its thinking, etc. Geography, on the other hand, can help you know about the earth.     Geography and history are the two best subject of arts & humanities. It depends upon a student that in which field he/she wants to make a career. In history, the candidate learns about history of India and outside India but in geography, a student studies about climate, topography, soil, rainfall. Through history, one can easily crack civil service exam or Banks PO or Clerk exam as there is one section of history in these exams. In general knowledge questions, most part is from history.
