My opinion says that IT sector is very variable sector. Retail is going to stay, only the form shall change as technology evolves. More and more job profiles require some kind of expertise in applied technology, be it ERP or Salesforce. An MBA shall give you a very broad picture of how a company is run and what all factors are needed for the same. Retail management will therefore be just an elective or a specialization with one or maybe two terms devoted to the subject.
