I'm a 12th grader who took informatics practices as optional subject and also have economics, accountancy, business studies and English as main subjects.

I would say that it's totally up to one's interest because opportunities are abundant in both fields. Regarding IPMAT, it's a 5 year long programme comprising of graduation and MBA degree. After the completion of first 3 years the IPM kids join the incoming MBA batch and there on the curriculum is sane. For further details, please mention specifically, what you want to know.
