    Jewellery is the very close topic for the women in India. India is the largest consumer of gold and hence India imports a lot of gold every year. Jewellery Designing is a blend of creativity and imagination of a person. The person who have a good sense of design and creative imagination along with sound technical knowledge for them Jewellery designing is the right career option. A student can take an admission for the Bachelors in Design course. This will be a good platform for the students to learn.     NIFT Kolkata stared its Accessory Design Programme (known as Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory Design - F&LA) in 2013 with the first and the finest batch of students passing in 2017. The department specializes in Jewelry Design (same as NIFT Gandhinagar Accessory Design Department which is far superior to NIFT Kolkata in all aspects).
    Being a NIFT Kolkata F&LA student who has visited most of the NIFT Campuses including NIFT Gandhinagar and NIFT Mumbai (both providing similar courses), I can definitely say that NIFT Kolkata lags behind in all aspects.
