This decade belongs to Electronics and Telecommunications. Electronics and Telecommunications will continue to impact all walks of life including business. Next wave of Industrial revolution is automation and Electronics will play a vital role in it. ECE engineers can be employed in all type of industries including IT. You can't compare both the branch because both have their own field of work which are truly awesome. But if you are comparing both the branch in respect of jobs then I must say that you which have abundant of opportunities by having CSE degree in compare to mechanical, the starting amount of salary is much better then you get in mechanical. But if you have a good references then you can earn well in Mechanical would get placed at the post of J. E and would be easily promoted to Production Manager in 45yr. Singh ji don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies.
