Which is a better branch of engineering in terms of placement and package, aeronautical engineering or petroleum engineering?

In the current scenario, petroleum is better as compared to aeronautical. If you pursue this from IITs/NITs, you have higher chances of getting a better offer in Petroleum. From long term perspective, Aeronautical will be a good option as there is immense opportunities in this field. IIST and IITs are best in this field. Average package you can expect for Petroleum is around 5-7 lakhs. For Aeronautics, you have high chances of getting into PSUs at package around 5-6 lakhs.

Aeronautical engineering is the branch of engineering to be precise branch of mechanical engineering that deals with research and development of aircraft. It covers all the key aspects of aeronautics from design to development and construction to testing. Petroleum engineers have come a long way from just drilling a hole underground to produce oil by its natural energy, to very knowledgeable enhanced oil technology, to actually pushing oil from an injector well to a producer. There are even more challenging tasks ahead for a young graduate in petroleum engineering today. Petroleum engineering education provides a wide spectrum of specialties to keep the industry running. These are reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, and production engineering to name a few. A reservoir engineer determines the oil in place and devises the most appropriate technology to produce the oil within the prevailing economical environment. LPU is the best place for petroleum engineering. Being a student at LPU I can say LPU has made a good name for itself in a short span of time by working hard for its students in terms of education, faculty, placements, infrastructure, etc. It works for the overall development of its students. Its main aim is to provide students with enough exposure both in the form of theoretical and practical knowledge for which there is much emphasis on workshops, live projects, etc. Along with classroom teaching. To impart quality education and training in petroleum engineering and associated fields to enable the students to imbibe technical and analytical skills through the culture of logical and critical thinking for students at LPU. To produce a sense of social and environmental responsibility among students which inspires them to apply chemical engineering principles in solving industrial problems through sustainable and eco-friendly technologies for the betterment of industry and nation. To establish modern infrastructure and a conducive research environment for carrying out academic and sponsored research. In terms of placement, LPU has made an excellent record.
