Which is a better course among event management and hotel management? I want to pursue PG.

Hi Prachi, Event management and hotel management both are lucrative jobs where you get an opportunity to travel and meet people from different backgrounds. I personally Feel though event has a lot of work like coordination, budgeting etc. But it is not that tough as you have a proper team who does everything.

Hi Prachi, Before I begin answering your question, I would like to mention that there are less colleges in India which provide Post graduation in Hotel management. Comparatively you might find more number of college/universities offering Master Degree in Event management. Now to begin with the answer, I would recommend that you to go for the stream you have passion and interest in. Else, there won't be a point, if you can't continue with it in future. As for Event management, the process of planning and coordinating the event is usually referred to as event planning and can include budgeting, scheduling, site selection, acquiring necessary permits, coordinating transportation and parking, arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging decor, event security, catering, etc. There are a lot of jobs available in the market, today which requires event planning and management, but you don't necessarily have to go for site visits. So in case you wish to avoid travel (perceived from your question), event management will be a better option to go for. I would again suggest you to go with your interest.
