    Both courses are good. Having a biotechnology degree opens up many more doors in various fields like industrial processes, management jobs while microbiology jobs are more research oriented. You also have an option of doing an MBA in Biotechnology, which a new and emerging field of work. The job market while not absolutely lucrative is growing with the biotechnology sector on the increase in India. There are jobs in the agricultural, pharmaceuticals, medical and various other fields, making it a very flexible subject.     Hello, choosing between the two courses would be one of the most crucial decisions of your educational future. But it solely depends upon the level of the study. I mean if you want to go further for Masters then biotechnology would be a better option because it leaves you with many other choices for PG. But if you are seeking job right after your graduation then u must go for microbiology, because it is a specialization programme, and you can get relatively greater job opportunities easily.
