    The demand of IT professionals is increasing not only in India but also abroad. After the completion of the course, the student can find a job in reputed IT companies like IBM, Oracle, Infosys, and Google. The student can work as a system engineer, junior programmer, web developer or as a system administrator. This field provides you ample opportunities to make your career not only in private sector but also in the public sector. The government organisation like NIC, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and India Navy also recruit large number of computer professionals for their IT department. B.Sc.     In terms of salary just after B.Sc, they are almost equivalent.
    But in my opinion, BCA definitely has the edge because of wider range of opportunities and job available. With BCA you can also enter into the highly lucrative area of Data Mining (salaries in crores if you go abroad). you can go for higher education M.Sc Ph.D.
    IT graduates also earn a lot (similar to BCA) but the problem is many Indian universities don't take IT degree for higher education. Research fields are limited (they are wide of course but I am talking wrt BCA). Also, thanks to the stigma attached to technical degrees IT B.Tech are more preferred vis a vis IT B.Sc (s
