Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products, or 'any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.'
Archaeology is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, and cultural landscapes. Archaeology can be considered both a social Science and a branch of the humanities.
Both are different. It all depends on your interest area and aptitude towards the subject.
