    Both are equally good. It depends on interest of candidate to which branch he is in. Both these branches have government job opportunities also.
    Therefore, decide on the factor of interest of candidate.

    You only have to understand your interest and passion that in which field you can become successful with the help of your hard work. In India, there are various job opportunities for both of these branches in public sector. There are many government jobs available for mechanical and civil engineers but for that you have to clear the examination that is conducted by the government councils and you must be eligible to appear for such kind of examination.
