Which is a better option? BA in history, BA in archaeology and ancient Indian history?

I'm aiming for archaeology but I think history course provides more wide knowledge then a direct course in archaeology.

It completely depends on you. A BA Archaeology course is more lenient towards a specific area of history rooted in cultural and civilizational preservation & research where BA History course define a wider area of history of India and the world considering all aspects of the past culture and human journey.

So, choosing a course completely depends on your area of expertise, knowledge, interest and choice of career path which you would like to acknowledge for the future.
